Weather Check
The rainy season has officially arrived, bringing the first big storm of the season—and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Temperatures ranged from 32–34°C (89–93°F) during the day, cooling to 24–28°C (75–82°F) at night. The conditions were perfect for explosive payara action, adding an electrifying edge to the week’s fishing.
River Conditions
Rising waters set the stage for a thrilling week. The river’s primal power was on full display, making every cast a balance between technique and raw adventure. These dynamic conditions challenged anglers and rewarded their efforts with unforgettable catches.
Fishing Rundown
The Xingu came alive this week, offering some of the best payara fishing we’ve seen. Whether on sinking lines, poppers, or varied retrieval techniques, the payaras were absolutely on fire. Matrinxas, schooling near the shore, provided exciting action with fruit and dry flies, surprising anglers with their impressive sizes.
While peacock bass and wolf fish began their migration to streams due to rising waters, the focus on payara made the week unforgettable. Our Kayapo guides, with their unmatched knowledge of the river, ensured every angler experienced the thrill of the Xingu.
