XINGU Fishing Report 2021 Week 06: October 9 to 16

Weather: We had cloudy, rainy days for most of the week.

Temperature: 30-34C (day) 20-22C (night)
Water Temperature: 29 C

River Conditions: The river’s high water continued after consistent rain throughout the week. The water color changed from crystal clear to slightly green. In addition to the river’s levels rising, the jungle creeks also saw an increase in volume and a change in color.

Fishing Conditions: Our week started off slow, with a main focus on vampire fish, but by the end of the week, everyone in our group got to hold one of these amazing fish. The last day, we watched as the fish became more aggressive, taking bigger streamers. Wolffish were also very active towards the end of the week at the mouths of the jungle creeks. Peacock bass fishing is still great, especially with streamers and Clouser Minnows.
