Kayapo indigenous land
The Xingu River sport-fishing project is located in the spectacular rainforest wilderness territory of the Kayapo indigenous people in the south eastern Amazon of Brazil. The Xingu River arises in the woodlands-savanna (cerrado) and transitional forest of northern Mato Grosso and flows north through the dense, moist forest of Pará for 2,700 km. to empty in the Amazon.
Xingu waters
The waters of the Xingu and Iriri are impressively clear because they drain ancient Brazilian shield granite, in contrast to most large Amazon rivers which are laden with sediment, and anglers can target various species using different techniques all in the same stretch of river.
Easy logistics
The Xingu has different access: by air (via Manaus or Carajás, taking a charter flight) and by ground transportation (vía San Felix). Then anglers take a fast boat to the lodge. With this easy access we can custom build packages and create great combo possibilities with our other lodges during the season.
